Heck of a Week

I have felt so worn out lately and really have been having a hard time getting back on track.  It always seems when I am down I get sick....(not quite sure why I'm down but I know this Mother's Day hit me pretty hard as I lost my mom to cancer 2 years ago).  This doesn't happen often but it hit me the last couple weeks or so.  I apparently came down with some cold/sore throat fever thing and unfortunately passed it on to my 6 year old.  He has been home from school for the last 4 days fighting off whatever this thing is.  I am praying to God that he will feel better in the morning.  So far, no one else has gotten sick, so hopefully I have contained it.

On a prettier note, I was looking out my kitchen window tonight right as the sun was setting and thought I would take a quick snapshot of the sky.  It looked so pretty with the layers of colors....

what is the saying..."pink sky at night, sailors delight".
Maybe tomorrow will bring a better day and take away these "blues" I have had lately :)

Look What Came in the Mail

I was so excited to receive the package that came in the mail today!  I was the winner of me2uprimitives giveaway.  Below is a picture of what I won....an adorable watermelon and crow hanging as well as a wonderful cookbook from the Missouri Church of God, and I must say, I can't wait to try some of these recipes!

Thanks so much Trish for the win.

Wonderful Weekend

So this weekend was a little busy to say the least.  On Saturday, my daughter had her First Communion.  She looked so pretty and was so excited!  The mass turned out wonderful!  Go here to see photos;

On Sunday, Mother's Day, my four little ones had such a special day planned.  First, I awoke to a wonderful breakfast they had set up which consisted of toast w/ pb & j, sliced apples and cereal.  Next, they had laid out their gifts and cards in the livingroom:

I was completely surprised when I opened the packages:

Each one of them gave me a snowglobe with their picture and a beautiful bangle bracelet!

I will treasure these always!

Also, to go along with these, three of the kids who are in school, designed a cake each to bring home:

I must say they are delicious!

After all of this, my husband said to get around quick cause we were going out for the day.  To make a long story short, he and the children planned a day at Universal Studios and Universal Islands of Adventure!  We had such a great time!  The lines were short and the weather was gorgeous!  We got there at 9am and returned home at 9pm, exhausted!  I couldn't have asked for a more perfect Mother's Day and weekend.  I have to admit, I am truly, truly blessed :)

A Great Moms Day Win

It's been a little bit of time since I have posted anything.  Ever since I had company, I just feel like I can't get back into the swing of things.  Always something going on, things needing to be done, blah, blah, blah.....but on a good note, I was just notified by Terra of  http://terragarden.blogspot.com/ that I was picked as the winner of her new book, "Scrapbook of Motherhood Firsts: Stories to Celebrate and Wisdom to Bless Moms".

This was written by Terra as well as two of her blog friends from Ohio and two blog friends from Texas, all of who have never met in person, in one room.  They met online....shows the power of blogging and meeting and making great friends..... I can't wait to read!   Thanks Terra :)
