It has been so long since I posted! I really needed some major time off!
I have to admit, this was one of the hardest summers I had with my kids home.
They completely wore me out!
I knew I wouldn't have time to post so I just kind of gave up. I would jump on every now and then just to see how all of you were doing but not for very long...
my time was consumed with my four little ones and then some!
This is the first time in twelve years that I have not had a child home with me.
The first day was very emotional. I have to admit, yes I missed them but I think it was
more about, "I can't believe I have waited so long for this and now it's actually here!"
My oldest has started middle school and my youngest is now full time...yeehaw!
Now it's all about finding me.
Not to sound selfish, but I feel I have lost myself so much.
I wasn't sure where to start out, but today I went online and saw many of your blogs. I absolutely love Fall and you all have inspired me to get moving...whether decorating, painting, sewing...I just want to do what I like to do for right now.
Oh believe me, I am still way to busy to fit in everything, but I am going to try and take some time out for myself while I have the peace and quiet:)
I do want to mention one more thing. I won this giveaway back in July and I want to say "Thank you" to Patti of Winding Vine Wanderings
Whew, I feel like I'm caught in a whirlwind! I have been trying to get my house ready for the company I am going to be having. My MIL & SIL will be arriving tomorrow as their flight for today was cancelled....but that's ok, I still have a little bit more to work on. Not that my house is dirty but with having four little ones there is always something to be picked up or put away, plus my MIL will be staying in my daughters room, so we had a lot to empty out. We want her to feel as comfortable as possible because she doesn't usually travel this far from home.
One of the projects that we worked on this past weekend was a little area off of our back screen room. It pretty much was a cement pad where we would sit and roast marshmallows over our fire pit. Well, I really wanted to clean it up a bit and make it more homey! So let me just show you with some photos:
Here is the before;
Hubby stained the cement, although it rained right after
so it really needs another coat.
We'll just have to deal for now;
We also added some pretty fencing and a little mulch garden. The kids and I painted some stones and placed them in the mulch. Also planted some flowers and a couple of blueberry bushes....(you can see what the rain did to the cement);
After decorating and sweeping, here are the finished shots;
Oh I love it sooooo much more! Now I can go out and have my coffee or a little bite at the bistro set!
I have so much more to share....decorated tree, a makeover, more goodies from Tuesday Morning, a cute win from Barefoot Primitives, etc. but I have to get going, so much to do. I will be back tomorrow morning to share with you!
I want to apologize for not posting these earlier. I wanted to post about them a couple of weeks ago but we had a major stomach bug moving around our household so everything was put on the back burner.
This will be going in my guest bathroom for now. My MIL & SIL's will be arriving a week from today so I want to set it up with spare towels, bath soaps and more. The color matches perfectly as it also does to my dining buffet and butcher block island, so I'm not quite sure where it's permanant home will be as of yet.
Thank you so much Carol!
And don't forget to join in on my Spring Giveaway. Ends May 6th as this is when my company will be heading home.
While my son was in his acting class this morning,
I decided to run to Tuesday Morning and a garage sale.
I found a few cute things;
I don't know if any of you have a Tuesday Morning around, but sometimes you find some really good deals, especially when they mark certain colors down 50%.
Found this metal French Rooster Milk Can
These cute resin Acorns
and these adorable tulip shaped wire Egg Holders...
I love these!
I found this necklace made of Buttons at the garage sale for a quarter -
you know these are being cut apart!
I was pretty happy with my goodies!
We put this left over bagel out for the birds yesterday
but look who showed up;
We call him "Nutty". He did all that he could to rip that bagel down and finally he did! He went running with half in his mouth, the other half fell on the ground. We tore it up and the birds came feeding!
