Back to the Grind

It was a nice break from the norm while my brother and his family were here visiting.  They flew down from New York for Easter and left last night to go back home.  It was a nice vacation while they were here but now I have to get back to my daily work schedule.  The kids were in school during their week and a half stay because their spring break was the end of March, but we were all able to get together a few times to do some fun stuff.
Here we all are at Seaworld (except I'm not in the picture cause I was taking it :)

My hubby and kids in the center
Also spent a little time at Cocoa Beach.  I was so surprised at my youngest.  He used to be so afraid of the water but this time I couldn't get him out:

Love this shot!
Anyway, I hope to start some new projects soon, got a little sidetracked, but we all need a little time off now and then :)

A Win & Some Projects!

I want to thank Brenda over at the Rusty Thimble.....I won her giveaway!  It was for the My Memories Digital Software.  I've already downloaded everything and can't wait to get started!  Thanks Brenda :)

On another note, I finished a couple of other projects that I thought I would share.  Remember that whisk I had gotten at the church's flea market?  Well this is what I ended up doing with it:

I mock rusted it up a bit and made a little nest with egg.  Finished it off with some homespun :)

Here's a closeup of the nest & egg:

This next project idea came to me when I was out and about.  I found some wooden spoons that I new I wanted to do something with.  I decided to paint them and use them as a decorative hanging.  My hubby drilled some holes in the top and I poked some ribbon through.  Used a branch that I roughly painted to hang them on and here's the result:

A closer look at what I decided to paint.  Wanted the pictures to tie in together:

Now I just need to find a place to hang them :)

That's about all for tonight.  Ready to hit the hay.  Even with the kids back to school today, I had so much to catch up on that I am exhausted!  Goodnight :)
