Busy Week/Couple Projects

It has been a crazy, busy week at our household!  It was Spring Break for the kids, and with my husband working so many hours lately, I was left with the honor of coming up with fun and creative activities all week....and boy, am I pooped!  Since we didn't go out of town (we just moved here and who would wanna leave Orlando anyway..lol), we decided to make the best of it.  Our theme this week was creativity and spontaneity!  We did a lot of water activities since the weather was gorgeous, a lot of silly shopping and whatever else that just came up as we went along.  Couple of pics here:

In the meantime, when everyone was asleep and hubby wasn't home yet, I would work on a couple of things here and there.  I wanted a few fabric eggs to put with my bunnies I had made.

I used some of the fabric I had received from Attic Raggedy's Giveaway
Here they are nestled in with my bunnies!

Also, found this wall box for .99 at the Goodwill.

Decided to sand and paint a mustard yellow.  Love the way it came out!

The rose was from my husband on Valentine's Day :)
I did a couple of other projects which I will post later after I take some picts.
Hope you all enjoy your weekend!!

Meet Mr. Big Peep

Meet Mr. Big Peep (the kids helped me name him).  He is stuffed, grunged and smells yummy!  I painted his face and tied a hangtag and rusty bell around him.  I created his nest from stiffened yarn and some straw.  He sits a little over 7" tall.  He's a nice addition to our family because for some reason, the kids can't keep their hands off of him, just like each other! - it's all good!!

Enjoy your day :)

Bunnies & Chicks

I decided to make some salt dough ornie bowl fillers.  Of course, once I started I couldn't stop!  Then I decided to dip them in some wonderfully smelling wax, roll in cinnamon mix and dip again.  I think they came out really cute, but most of all, it was a lot of fun!

Lots of bunnies & carrots

Added some homespun greenery on top of the carrots

And I couldn't forget the chicks & eggs

I hope everyone had a great first day of Spring!

P.S.   I forgot to mention that I won Traci's last Easter egg hunt giveaway over at York Mountain Primitives.  I'll show you my goodies once I receive them!

Upcycled Makedo for Prim Flowers

Last night, while hubby was working (he's always working - God Bless him) I decided to take a couple of my prim flower ornies and create an upcycled makedo, since I don't have any real flowers planted outside, yet, or any inside for that matter :)

I grubbied some old tin cans, added a homemade label, stuck my ornies on top of some painted dowels and added a piece of homespun.  They sit pretty tall at 12".  I think they came out pretty good, they look adorable on my shelf!  I have another idea for more of my flower ornie tucks...........to be continued

Couple Birthday Picts

Graham, now age 4!

Nathaniel, now age 6!

We all had a great time!

Candle Grunging w/ Kids

Last night, while my husband worked late, I decided to grunge some candles.  I let my two oldest stay up for a little bit to help out.  Well, they had so much fun, I couldn't get them to go to bed.  10:30 on a school night is too late in our house for an 8 & 10 year old, but they were doing such a good job and coming up with some creative ideas, that I just let them run with it.

The start of one of my sons creations, the end result was awesome!

As Daddy was pulling in, I made them jump into bed, I know, I'm bad, but sometimes you gotta give a little.  We were all having fun :)  I didn't get a picture of everything, but here is one where I thought the candles came out great!

Needless to say, we are all exhausted and after finishing a couple of projects this evening, we are hitting the hay early tonight!

~ Good night ~

Busy Bunnies

It's been a pretty busy week around here.  My youngest son turned 4 on Saturday, so to celebrate we went to the Florida Strawberry Festival.  It was good other than way to many food vendors.  We did come home with a full flat of strawberries though!  Sunday was spent all day at Seaworld, needed to use up some seabucks that we received.  Turned out to be a great day!
My 3rd in line will be turning 6 on Friday, still trying to plan that one out.  With their birthdays so close, I hate to have another cake, we still haven't finished the first.  Any suggestions?

Being that we were busy little bunnies around here and having seen so many cute little bunnies being created, I decided to make a few last night.  I had some pretty floral fabric that I thought would look good for some Spring bunnies!

Have a great day :)

Cozy Bear

Just wanted to share my "cozy ted" with you.   I worked on him last night while my husband was at work and finished him up today.  He's 8" tall, has a felt heart, grunged hangtag and smells terrific!!  He's my little homespun buddy:)
