First off, I have to say that it is such a relief to have the nice weather back.....Debby is gone! The kids and I started getting cabin fever, but yesterday we were able to get out all day to get some errands done and todays weather looks even better. My daughter and I got up early to go for a walk, not a cloud in the sky.....blue as far as the eye could see:)
But while we were cooped up I was able to get a cute Americana Wreath made. I had seen this on this site
http://ssbuffat.blogspot.com and really wanted to make one. Mine is a smaller version and I really liked how it came out. It was very simple to make:
These are all the materials you need:
a styrofoam wreath, felt (3 red, 3 white, 2 blue) and stick pins.
First, you cut out 2" x 2" squares from the felt
Starting with one color, you fold the felt in half
And then in half again
Using a stick pin, poke it through the corner of the felt and into the wreath
Continue doing this in each corner of the felt (you don't have to arrange them like this after your first initial pieces). Place them close together to fill in any gaps of the wreath showing
This is how it should look after inserting many pieces.
Open them and twist them as you go to hide any stick pins or gaps showing
Keep the red and white areas the same size and make the blue double
Cut your stars out of the white felt and hot glue on.
(I changed my stars from the original one I saw, this was handier for me)
Finished....easy peasy!!
Hope you all have great weather your way and a wonderful day:)
